In recent weeks at Lomond we have been exceptionally busy preparing our offices for the easing of lockdown restrictions. A government decision on the 18th June 2020 will confirm if the country can move to phase 2. Guidance states that phase 2 will allow for members of the public to engage in home moving activity, whether it be the sale or purchase of a residential property.
During the lock down period a number our team members have continued to work from home, and it has been evident since the beginning of June that the demand for both viewings and market appraisals is exceptional. Continuing to prioritise a safe approach is key and as a result we have detailed procedures in place for both sellers and buyers. Our offices will be open and staffed on a locked door policy, and we would request visits are booked in advance. We are anticipating that valuations, property listings and physical viewings will be able to commence once we reach phase 2. A video tour of each property will be provided, along with sales brochure, floor plans and home report, providing prospective purchasers a wealth of information prior to deciding if a physical viewing is required.
A large number of home sales already going through the legal process were delayed by lockdown and it has been hugely encouraging to see that nearly all of these transactions have remained, with both sellers and buyers committed to moving forward with their next move. The level of enquiries points towards a fast restart of the local property market. At Lomond we are here to help, and if you require any advice in respect of selling or buying, please contact our Prestwick or Irvine offices on the details below.
